Lyndham Labradors

News

Not news, but a picture we think is worth seeing.  The group of Champions at the Labrador Club Championship Show in 1993.  Henry and I are just about in the middle of the left hand side - he won Best Veteran on the day at the age of 12 years.  How many others can you recognise, sadly many not now with us.

6th October 2010

Not a lot of dog news this year as Keith has had a hip replacement and I have had a knee replacement, which has curtailed our showing somewhat.  However we are now fit again so hope to be around the shows again before long..

20th March 2011

Further to the above - I am now waiting to have my second knee replaced, so once again looks as if it will be a quiet years showing and training.  Must get in as much as I can before June!

19th June 2011

Operation date now set for June 28th, so not long now.  Just returned from a fabulous weekend judging in Pisa.  Great dogs and great hospitality as always in italy.  A lovely boost before my op.

Next judging trip is, hopefully, to be in the Czech Republic next June, for the Retriever Club.  Really looking forward to that as have never been to that part of Europe.

30th July 2011 ...

Knee operation over and doing advised exercises to get fit again.  Won't be much Labrador showing for another few months but hope to get back in the ring with the Border before too long.

Shhhhhhh........there is a whisper we may be getting a new baby English Setter!

21st July 2011....

Katie has arrived - a lively tri English Setter bitch.  She is certainly keeping us on our toes!

Sadly, shortly after Katie arrived, we lost our old Border Terrier, Meg. She was nearly 15 and leaves a big gap at Lyndham.

19th Augusr 2012.....

We picked up our new Labrador puppy, Toby.  He has settled in well with the other dogs.  Katie the Setter is nurse-maiding him and teaching him all her bad habits!  Photos coming soon!

October 2012

We are sad to say that our Teddy has left us to go to the Rainbow Bridge.  It was very sudden and we are devastated.  Run free my big chocolate Teddy.  Love you and miss you so much. xxx

14th November 2012

As if losing Teddy wasn't hard enough, we have today, had to say night night to his Mum jazz.  She had been frail for a while and we made the difficult decision to give her rest to prevent any suffering and preserve her dignity.  Run free at the Bridge Jazz, reunited with Teddy and Stanley, both travelling there a few weeks ago. The house feels empty and many tears have been shed.  Love and miss you Jazz.  xxx

July 2014

This was my adventure to Australia to judge for the Labrador Club of Queensland along with Pat Harrison and Gary Johnson.  We had some great labradors to judge and made some lovely new friends.Certainly a trip of a lifetime.  We spent 6 days in Brisbane and then travelled down to Sydney for 4 days.

2015

A good start to the year with Toby winning two strong Post Graduate classes at EALRC and 3 Ridings LRC.   We then tried a Limit class at Windsor Ch Show in July and were delighted to get his Stud Book number by winning 3rd place.  Stud Book Number:  1978DA.

The year finished sadly when we had to say goodbye to our lovely chocolate girl, Jess (Lyndham Melita)  She was from the last litter we bred so the end of an era.

2016

This year has continued to be successful for Toby.  He started the year well by being placed 3rd at Crufts in a very strong Limit class.  He was placed 2nd in Limit at the Labrador Club Centenary show, followed the next day by another 2nd at EALRC Ch Show.  He has been consistently placed in the top 3 at his Ch shows this year as well as winning BOBs at Open shows and Res BD at KSSLRC Open show.  At the end of December, we brought a new canine family member home - a Welsh Springer Spaniel named Skipper.

2017

Another good start to the year with Toby placed 4th in a very strong Limit Class at Crufts.  He has also won several BOBs at Open shows and a Group place.  We are also continuing training with Skipper, the Welsh Springer Spaniel, he is develping nicesly and well settled into the canine family.
